The Central Government is considering to make amendments in draft Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022 (“the bill”). According to sources, in an attempt to allow easy flow of data to other countries, government is planing to amend clause 17 of the bill which earlier prescribed that government will prescribe the territories outside India to which Data fiduciary may transfer personal data. However, in order to liberalize flow to personal data the government may allow flow of personal data to all countries other than the countries specifically notified by the government.
