Privacy by design to become an ISO standard

From the next month, Privacy by design (“PBD”) will become and international privacy standard for protection of consumer products and services. On 8th February, the International Organisation for Standardization (“ISO”) is going to adopt PBD as ISO 31700. However, it ill not be a conformance standard initially. 

ISO 31700 has 30 requirements. It will include the following:

1. Conducting privacy risk assessments.
2. Lifecycle data management
3. Managing data breach
4. Enabling consumers to enforce privacy rights.
