Germany’s anti trust regulator Bundeskartellamt,German for Federal Cartel office in a statement said that google does not provide enough information to its users about how the company collects user’s data and share it across its various services (youtube, google maps, google search etc.) Bundeskartellamt said that google must provide information to its users about how and for what purpose their data is collected .
It was further added that Google cannot be allowed to make it easier for users to give their consent to whatever the company want to do with user’s data. Google must provide sufficient choices to users as to how their data should be processed. It can be seen as German’s regulator warning to google that it may be fined in a manner similar to META for forcing its users to give consent for targeted advertising.
